Conceptual design of a visual merchandising strategy for motorcycle aftersales.

Optics are crucial. Especially when selling accessories and driver equipment in the after-sales area, the design of the sales area and the attractive presentation of the products play a decisive role. The more emotionally attached a customer feels to a brand, the greater his willingness to invest in components, clothing and accessories. Visual merchandising (i.e. visual sales promotion) is therefore also an unavoidable topic for large OEMs.

Our experts developed a comprehensive visual merchandising strategy for the motorcycle segment of our OEM customer in the aftersales area to increase sales of aftersales products at the point of sale.

Our mission

The goal of our assignment was not only the development and conception of visual merchandising guidelines for the client’s various sales markets, but also the long-term establishment of the visual merchandising concepts in the trade organizations to increase sales in the aftersales area.

Our work

The project assignment was divided into three work packages, which were delivered on time by our experts:
1. analysis and evaluation of the status quo for the penetration of visual merchandising in the markets
2. analysis and evaluation of existing manuals / work instructions
3. development of a new, cross-market guideline
4. conception of the future-oriented visual merchandising strategy to enable the markets and their establishment

Our results

Through the targeted exchange with relevant partners, as well as the expertise of our employees, the project assignment was successfully completed to the full extent.
The comprehensive visual merchandising strategy was presented to our client in a management meeting and subsequently made available in written form.
The well-founded document helped to sensitize the markets regarding the necessity of visual merchandising to increase sales at the point of sale.

Thanks to our industry know-how in the automotive aftermarket, the goal was achieved with our strong project team within the time frame to full customer satisfaction. The experience from past projects in the after-sales area as well as the distinctive knowledge of the dealer and market structures and the international experience of our project team led to the punctual and safe project success.

Through the independent work of our team of experts we were able to free up resources in our client's internal specialist department. We used our experience from other projects with similar requirements and were thus able to successfully exploit synergy effects. The project results enabled our client to further anchor the topic of visual merchandising in the retail organization and sales markets and to drive sales growth.
