Our mission
Our main assignment was the research and analysis of technical barriers to trade for 45 predefined import markets of our client. A selection of exclusive vehicle-related accessory products was determined in advance. The subsequent professional preparation of reports including the need for action for each market should lead to sustainable project success.
Our work
In detail, our experts prepared reports listing and evaluating all relevant laws, regulations, norms and standards for each accessory product and target market. The report should contain a recommendation for the implementation of the technical regulations of the market being worked on.
Our results
The categorisation was assessed by means of a traffic light procedure in relation to the technical requirements in the respective import markets. The traffic light procedure is structured analogously to the colours of a traffic light: green means no need for action, yellow indicates need for clarification, red signals need for action.
It was important to develop an indication as to whether the product could be imported into the relevant target market without obstacles. This included a list of all relevant technical regulations for each product and target market. The creation of a requirements matrix for an overall overview with all markets and relevant information as well as the need for action provided an additional overview.
Our know-how
The professional research and monitoring of the country-specific technical regulations in the field of automotive accessories was important for a good conclusion of this contract. We were able to draw on detailed component knowledge for automotive products. Our experts also transferred their existing know-how from the areas of food contact products, textile and leather goods as well as electronics to automotive issues.
Our added value for the customer
We were able to present an overview of the regional, regulatory requirements for each accessory product that we looked after. A price overview or an indication of the costs incurred per target market before or in the early phase of product development (business case analysis) helped. With professional consulting and recommendations for the correct implementation of the identified requirements, we were able to offer our client a sustainable solution in this project.
