Automotive CCC certification in China – Changes in the scope of certification through Announcement No. 29.

Reflectors were excluded from the scope of CCC certification as of 3 December 2018 and are no longer CCC relevant. This does not apply to grouped retro-reflectors that are integrated into the combination rear lamp, for example.

Dealing with existing CCC marking

All CCC certificates for reflectors were cancelled with effect from 3 December 2018 and are now invalid. As a result, challenges arise in production and logistics for those parts that will continue to be produced with CCC marking due to the existing tools. Products which have not been certified or marked before do not need to be changed. For components produced with CCC marking, the change provides two options.

In order to continue to be able to introduce CCC marked products and not have to initiate a tool change, a voluntary CQC certification can be carried out. If there is no voluntary CQC certification, the CCC marking may not be used any further. The authority provides for a natural omission for this. A natural omission of a component marking occurs either at the next modification of the tool or at the end of the production of a component. This regulation applies to components that contain an embossed or printed CCC marking. Those components which have been removed from the CCC circumference must also be declared as irrelevant components.

Self-certification and outlook

There are always rumours and speculations about CCC circumferential extensions and reductions. Announcement No. 29 has shown how quickly and often unexpectedly changes can occur. You can read more CCC relevant changes in 2018 in the Insight to Announcement No. 11, which came into force on 15.06.2018.

The unbroken travelling is causing record sales and turnover, especially in the caravaning industry. The manufacturers not only deliver their leisure vehicles and the corresponding accessories to Germany but also the export is rising to new dimensions. However, this also involves risks for the manufacturers with regard to technical compliance requirements.
